Method 1 Use Windows Task Manager

1. Right-click on the taskbar and choose Task Manager. (Or you can press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on the keyboard at the same time to choose Task Manager to open it.)

2. Under the tab Processes, scroll down to find Windows Explorer. Right-click on Windows Explorer and choose Restart.

3. Exit the Task Manager. Click the Start button and check if it is OK.

Method 2 Use System File Checker

1. Press Win+X on the keyboard at the same time and choose Command Prompt (Admin).

2. Copy and paste (or just type) the following command and press enter after.

  sfc/scannow


3. Wait until the process is finished, which might take a while.

Method 3 Use Powershell

1. Press Win+R on the keyboard at the same time to open Run command, type in PowerShell and press enter.

2. Copy and paste (or just type) the following command and press enter after.

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

3. Wait until the process is finished, type exit and press enter to quit Powershell.

Method 4 Restore to the good condition

If you have the good habit to backup with Neptune SystemCare before, then congratulations, you could go back to the Windows 10 where nothing is wrong. If you do not know how, after you fix Windows start button problem, you have to follow the instruction to create a system restore point just in case some irreversible mistakes occur.

-> The second button is for backing up your system. Click on Creating a system restore point and then save the file to an external storage drive, like USB, or save it in the cloud.

Method 5 Reinstall Windows 10
