We have heard that Windows 10 runs faster than any other operating system before. However, when we tried to install Windows 10 into our senior PCs or the ones that got relatively weak hardware, the PCs became terribly slow and stuck. Why don’t we just keep the old friends and optimize the Windows 8 to get a better performance?

Here are some tips to help you speed up Windows 8 of your old and slow PC.

1. Tame the Visual Effects

Visual effects afford a sense of style, but they can also be a source to share the weight on machines that are a little older. Gladly they are easy to turn off.

->Right Click the Desktop and hit Personalize, find Control Panel Home and click Advanced system settings.

->A list of the various visual effects appears. We can either uncheck the ones we think might be a problem or simply select the Adjust for best performance option at the top. Click OK to save the changes.

2. System Cleaner

The longtime running of the system would create bunches of junk. It’s the best to install a safe utility, like Neptune SystemCare Ultimate to checkup and clean Windows. Just one click on Checkup, and the slow pc speeds up soon

3. Run with the best performance.

->Press Windows+R, a dialogue box shows up. Enter msconfig and press OK.

->Find out Boot tab and click Advanced options, choose the maximum processors and tune up the memory to the maximum, and then click OK.

To some extent, we can get the slow Windows 8 PC speed up in a few simple steps.
