Solution 1 Roll back to the system restore point you created before

This is probably the most efficient way to fix 0x8000ffff error. If you have the good habit to backup with Neptune SystemCare before, then congratulations, you could go back to the Windows you have where nothing is wrong. If you do not know how, after you fix the problem, you have to follow the instruction to create a system restore point just in case some hard-to-solve mistakes occur.

-> The second button is for backing up your system. Click on Creating a system restore point and then save the file to an external storage drive, like USB, or save it in the cloud like Google Drive or iCloud.

Solution 2 Perform a virus scan

Since the error 0x8000ffff could be caused by malware and virus, you can launch your anti-virus programs to do a thorough virus scan on your PC/laptop and let it solve the problem.

If your computer has no infection, then close all the programs and restart your computer.

Solution 3 Run SFC (System File Checker)

->When command prompt window opens, type sfc/scannow and press Enter.

->Press Win +X on the keyboard, and then select Device Manager from the Jump List.

-> Expand the device entries and find out the exact device that results in the error (with warning beside). Right-click on it and choose Update Driver Software.
