When you the HP LaserJet 1320 to print the hours-working document, the printer occasionally stops printing at random times. Power cycling the printer or stopping/starting the printer agent appears to kick-start the printers again, but only temporarily.

In this case, if it’s not the toner’s fault, then it is HP LaserJet 1320 driver making errors. Allow me to explain a little bit here. If you have updated your system or get other components upgraded, HP LaserJet 1320 driver will also need to be updated and load for the printer.

Usually, it would be better to consult the printer manual and find out what printers the drivers will emulate. The good news is, in this post, you can solve this problem by following the steps below.

Step 1 Connect your printer (HP LaserJet 1320) with your PC and turn it ON.

Step 2 Go to Start and click on Devices and Printers on the right side.

Step 3 A dialogue box will appear with all connected or installed devices in your Windows, with a yellow exclamation icon on the right down corner, you also find your HP LaserJet 1320 Printer on the list. Here you should click on Add a Printer button to proceed to installation.

Step 4 Then a question says “What type of Printer do you want to Install?” pops up. Click Add a Local Printer.

Step 5 In next window, click on drop down button Use an existing port, and click on DOT4_001 (HP LaserJet 1320 Printer), and click Next.

Step 6 Then a box will ask you to install the printer driver, and you will find two column lists, Manufacturer on the left and Printers on the right side.

Step 7 Inside Manufacturer column, scroll down and select HP, on the right side column, you will find Plug & Play printer’s list.

Step 8 Inside HP Printer’s list, scroll down, find HP LaserJet 2200 Series PL5 and click on it to select, and click Next.
